It was a Muslim who realized that light ENTERS our eyes, unlike the Greeks who thought we EMITTED rays, and so invented a camera from this discovery.

It was a Muslim who first tried to FLY in 852, even though it is the Wright Brothers who have taken the credit.

It was a Muslim by the name of Jabir ibn Hayyan who was known as the founder of modern Chemistry. He transformed alchemy into chemistry. He invented: distillation, purification, oxidation, evaporation, and filtration. He also discovered sulfuric and nitric acid.

It is a Muslim, by the name of Al-Jazari who is known as the father of robotics.

It was a Muslim who was the architect for Henry V’s castle.

It was a Muslim who invented hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, a technique still used today.

It was a Muslim who actually discovered inoculation, not Jenner and Pasteur to treat cowpox. The West just brought it over from Turkey

It was Muslims who contributed much to mathematics like Algebra and Trigonometry, which was imported over to Europe 300 years later to Fibonnaci and the rest.

It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did.

The list goes on………..

Just imagine a world without Muslims. Now I think you probably meant, JUST IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT TERRORISTS. And then I would agree, the world would definitely be a better place without those pieces of filth. But to hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is ignorant and racist. No one would ever expect Christians or White people to be held responsible for the acts of Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma bombing) or Anders Breivik (Norway killing), or the gun man that shot Congresswoman Giffords in head, wounded 12 and killed 6 people, and rightly so because they had nothing to do with those incidents! Just like the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims have nothing to do with this incident!

it is absolutely fucking unacceptable to tell queer and trans kids that they have to wait for it to get better. it is fucking unacceptable that we tell them that they have to accept being bullied and treated like less than fucking people and that they just have to hope and pray that one day will be that promised day that “it gets better”.

For those who don’t get the issue Azealia has been trying to explain and why she’s chosen Iggy to be her target, let me explain.

Imagine you were great at your craft - where you’re virtually understood to be really fucking good at what you do. You’re considered forward-thinking and skilled as a creative. Your skill is unmatched. Now imagine others, whose music is not as good and their craft not as technically good as yours, being awarded while you’re ignored. It would be frustrating.

Now imagine how frustrating it is when the reality is that the mediocre product is being praised because a white woman has made it, while you have to work 20x as hard just to have 10% of the recognition the white woman has to get because you’re a black woman.

Now imagine this happening in a genre that is supposed to be your people’s safe haven. Black little boys and girls don’t get to dream about being big pop stars or country stars or rock stars. They get only one little slice of the fucking pie they had to work to carve out and create and are told “this is yours - we will demonize it and use it to portray your people as uneducated and dangerous thugs who deserve to be shot, but its yours”. Then its taken from you. “Hip hop is now white”. The one thing you had, the thing society uses to justify the killing of your people and to literally demonize your culture is now chic and something cool for white people to do (with mediocre results) and they’re awarded for it.

It’s a reminder for black people that this world isn’t yours and it was never meant to be - that you are the other, you are the outsider and nothing is yours and will be taken for the gain of white people no matter how good you are; anything done by a white person will be praised more, considered better and received better because many societies on this Earth are still rooted in the teachings of white supremacy.

This isn’t about Iggy, but her being a documented racist doesn’t help her case and she, due to her own fault, is now the face of white privilege, of white mediocrity. Little white girls can grow up and dream about being anything they want, to some restrictions, but little black girls? Nobody in this world cares about little black girls and we teach little black girls not to even care about themselves.

When Azealia Banks is on the radio, cursing Igloo out and angry and pissed off and maybe saying things she shouldn’t, she’s coming from a place of anger and hurt and putting her foot down as a black woman and saying - “Fuck you. You’ve taken everything else from me. You’ve taken everything you can from my people and forced us to make this through our own pain and struggle that you caused. You can’t have it. You have everything else due to simply being white, you will not take the one thing black people have worked hard to keep and make for themselves against centuries of modern fucking institutional oppression and racism. Fuck you.”

Same for mass shootings which are almost entirely done by white males.

If it was done by, literally, ANYONE ELSE of any other race or gender, I can’t even IMAGINE the shit that would be said by people.

I read somewhere, someone had this theory that the reason shootings are mainly committed by white males is because when women or poc feel alienated, depressed, etc, we are trained to keep it to ourselves, whereas white men are raised with a sense of entitlement that allows them to make their own problems everyone’s problem.

I wonder if it is true for shooting or for road rage or both or neither.

the bolded!

This is a really good documentary.

BEST DOCUMENTARY I’VE EVER SEEN, actually.

on the issue of racism, this is a great illustration.

minority racism towards white people is at most an inconvenience. a singular experience where their race works against them. a truly escapable type of experience because after it, they return to a society tilted in their favor. in fact, even during the experience, they never leave it. they never lose the advantage.

white racism towards minorities is systematic and destructive. we get jailed, shot dead, have our rights ignored, our rights slashed, neighborhoods targeted, job opportunities decreased, healthcare options constrained and more. all these things work together to create a understandable hatred towards whites. a hatred born out of pain, experience, oppression and disenfranchisement. a hatred that makes way more sense than white racism which is born out ignorance. a hatred that is fueled by the  knowledge that whites, even those who swear to not be racist, by their actions and words perpetuate the system of oppression. their words of solidarity ring hallow.

i for one have never trusted easily but white people have a even harder time gaining my trust. very very few do. what’s most disheartening is when you extend that trust only to be betrayed. i had that happen to me a few months ago. that cut was deep but it was a learning experience. 99.99999% of whites are programmed to hate us. that’s just the truth.

As a white woman I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share this because it made me sad and uncomfortable. Then I realized that’s exactly why I need to share it.

Hang on a minute…

Shouldn’t all mermaids be fat?

Mermaids are probably mammals, because of their visible breast tissue and horizontal tail fins.

Aquatic mammals need to have developed a thick layer of subcutaneous fat in order to survive in water. Even in a hot climate, swimming in water the whole time would require fatty insulation.

So… chubby mermaids. Yeah.

Keep reblogging this, it is making male mermaid enthusiasts angry.

So those little arm flails? That’s because she cant get enough air. They have literally trained this uro to go upside down and have a hard time breathing, just for a type of petting she could have gotten other ways.

You know how many people are likely doing this to their lizards now, not knowing that their lizard’s flailing is actually them being unable to breathe? I don’t want to think about it.

This is probably the third time I’ve reblogged different gifs of this video explaining, but FUCKING SIGNAL BOOST. DON’T DO THIS SHIT. YOUR LIZARD CANT FUCKING BREATHE.
